Oiseaux Tristes

Original was 8x10 Watercolor, colored pencil on 140lb hot press paper.
"Oiseaux Tristes" (Sad Birds) was inspired by a piano piece by the same name, from Maurice Ravel's Miroirs suite. A lonely bird girl is perched atop a wrought iron gate, while a little gray bird shares her sorrow.
