STEP THREE: MOULDING THE SKIN AND HAIR Next I use varing combinations of the light skin tone mix + burnt sienna + raw umber to put shadows on the skin and hair. I also put some highlights in the skin and hair using the light skin tone mix. In this step, I do not dilute the paint; I use a dry brush with a bit of acrylic glaze medium to blend the colors smoothly. I like to do the skin and hair first, because then the central figure starts to come to life!
