ACRYLIC TUTORIAL "FAERY QUEEN", PAGE 7

faery queen tutorial step 7

STEP SEVEN: REFINE FOREGROUND

Using the same colors as everything else in this tutorial, I have further modeled and refined the tree throne, dress, hair, headdress, and flowers. I have also added some slight modeling to the owl at the base of the tree throne. I decided to change the folds of the dress so that it hangs straight down, and have used mainly quinacridone magenta to deepen the shadows. For the tree, I have achieved a lovely red glaze by mixing quinacridone magenta with green gold. With a dry brush I've added highlights in little clusters all over the tree. Most of the colors in this step have been thinned quite a bit with glaze medium.
