ACRYLIC TUTORIAL "FAERY QUEEN" , PAGE 8

faery queen tutorial step 8

STEP EIGHT: REFINE BACKGROUND

With a nice dark brown mixture, I have darkened the forest floor and modeled the tree trunks. I have also used a mixture of azo yellow, titanium white, and burnt sienna to shape the shadows around the pillars. With this same mixture I have made the hair warmer and the skin as well. The face and body were further defined, and the eyes darkened and shaped. Brighter highlights were added to the dress and the wings, and a long highlight was placed down the middle of the wooden flute. The dress trim and jewelry also gained some highlights and shaping. The shadows in the tree throne were deepened to meld with the dark background.
